How to Get There
In your phone or Google Maps - "Mitchell Canyon Road, Clayton, CA."
Mitchell Canyon Road is a turn to the south off Clayton Road, which is a turn to the east off Ygnacio Valley Road.
Go all the way to the end of Mitchell Canyon Road to the parking lot.
There is an interpretative center there, and rest rooms.
Please be ready to start walking at 8:00AM. This is the park opening time, however the gate is usually opened before that time.
The entrance fee is $6.00. You will need exact change and a pen. This is one of those un-staffed gates where you register yourself.
Three Peaks: Mt. Diablo, Eagle Peak and North Peak. That's about 14 miles and 4,000' of climbing. The top of North Peak is very steep - poles can come in handy.
Eliminate the out-and-back to North Peak.
Meet in the parking lot near the rest rooms. Don't count on having cell phone reception at the meeting point.
